Thanks for that...I'm blushing now....lovely?...me? lol
Anyway, I am admin but the group is supposed to be run by our director Simon who does all the site stuff...but I do everything else I suppose. I organise the investigations and meetings, write articles, book reviews, visit locations for pre investigation interviews, correlate the investigation reports and do research.
The group was founded back in October 2003 by three former members of BGC (Bristol Ghost Club). Simon Priddy, Steve Netting and Tony Roper wanted to form a paranormal group with more emphasis on the scientific side of investigating. The group quickly built up a vast array of members from the Bristol area who wanted to contribute to the group’s success. The aim of the group is to encourage balanced debate and research of paranormal phenomenon. The Society arranges investigations at allegedly haunted sites around the west-country; at these events members hold vigils and gather data using a wide range of environmental sensors plus audio and video recording equipment. Reports on investigations are published on the Society’s websites and members are encouraged to objectively analyse any audio or visual data collected.
BSPRI membership covers a wide range of ages, backgrounds and professions. The members are a mixture of believers and sceptics, but all members have an open mind and aim to be objective about what they experience at investigations.
Although Tony Roper left the group to pursue other things, Steve Netting and Simon Priddy continue to run the group through the web site. Steve used to join the group on investigations but now prefers to do a lot of work behind the scenes. His contributions to sort out any site problems continue to be invaluable to the group. Simon has had an interest in the paranormal for many years but has remained sceptical even though he has encountered a few strange things that even he could not explain logically. He develops and builds new scientific kit for the investigations, makes improvements and modifications to the web site and is a valuable member of the technical team. His most interesting investigation to date was a recent return to the Ancient Ram Inn at Wotton under Edge where Simon had an image of a man with a shadow behind him in his head which he drew. Outside in the car park, he saw a shadowy figure move and vanish on two separate occasions. Simon has never had anything like this happen before but continues to be as open-minded as ever.
