Motorway Services books

Post  magssdoc on Sun Apr 20, 2008 7:24 pm

I mentioned it on the old forum, but if ever you find yourself traveling up and down the country and have to stop to spend a penny and stretch the legs.
Don't forget to have a look at the books in the services bookshop section.
Over the years I have picked up a few good books from these places and I wasn't disappointed on the way up to Scotland.
We use the M6 TOLL road to avoid Birmingham on our journey and we always call in at the services on there.
I could not believe my luck, in the book section was a selection of books by the Liverpudlian author Tom Slemen, in fact there was about five of his books. I've been after some of his books for a while and I managed to pick up Liverpool Ghost Walk, a book written as a result of a ghost walk he offered and found himself with 600 participents after 20 lucky people won a competition in the Liverpool Echo to go on a ghost walk with him.
It gives a route and the stories behind the route.

Haunted Cheshire written after gathering stories about the local county whilst writing his Haunted Liverpool series.

Haunted Liverpool 9, needless to say I will have to get the others in the series now.

These books will go on offer once I have read them but I would like them back.
If you want to borrow the books, put your name down on this thread and I will send them to you when I have read them. I am reading them in the order that they were written down on this thread.
