Tolomato Cemetery St Augustine's Florida

Post  magssdoc on Thu Jan 22, 2009 2:16 pm

This is one of the stops on the Ghost Tour that we took two years ago.
I suppose our tour in a way was a bit unique, in as much as other tours seemed to be made up of just adults but we had several children on our tour.
We had an extended family holiday, in as much as my sister and my family went together. As my younger neice was on her own with her parents she was allowed to invite two of her friends along.
So on our tour, we had three 15 year old girls, my two aged at the time, 11 and 7 and two boys who were with another lady on the tour.
Our tourguide seemed to be quite happy that we have a few kids with us, and we found out why when we stopped at the cementary.
The gates, of course were locked and we gathered around in a semi circle to hear the stories.
As you look at the cemetary gates, there is a large oak tree hanging with Spanish Moss. The kids seemed fascinated by the tree, and Norm (oh) was busy taking photos with his new camera.
The guide told us the story of a little boy, often seen playing on around the tree by children. Only for no adults to see him, until one day, he showed himself to a crowd.
She also said that when children were present in the tour, they got a lot of 'blue' orbs turning up in pictures.
The blue orb is, said the tour guide believed to be the little boy, who is attracted to the children doing the tour.
Well as if by cue, Norm took a picture of the tree, because something had attracted his attention, guess what he got.......a blue orb!

What was really interesting, the lady who was taking the tour with us, heard us discussing the orb, and the fact that I do investigations, because Norm turned to my sister and said, 'she must be the only believer who will pooh pooh anything you come up with.'
He went to show the guide what he had photographed and the lady taking the tour told me, that she had taken this exact tour before.

This time she had her son and his friend, but a few years before when her son was a toddler in his buggy she had done the tour with a group of friends, and when they were at the cemetary, her son had suddenly pointed to the tree and shouted 'boy!'
This was even before the guide had got to the story about the cemetary.
Now if ever I learn how to post photos, I will post the one Norm took that night.

Its definately blue and looks quite big but its hard to tell from a photo what the scale is did you see it at all at the time or after Mags? Its strange how the girls were drawn to the tree and the fact that the ghost of the boy turns up when children are around very interesting picture that. goodpost

if you click on the picture it enlarges, I didn't see it with my naked eye, but you know what it is like when you have kids, your eyes are on them most of the time.

Nads, we didn't realise it at the time, because it is a bit of drive from Orlando, that you can do the ghost tour in a hearst.
We plan next time (whenever that may be) we go, we are going to spend the night there because the drive up and back in one day plus all the walking around is just too much.
I was dead on my feet for the next few days.
