The White House Empty The White House

Most of you know the story that Abraham Lincoln haunts the corridors and bedrooms of the White House, but did you know about the Rose Garden?
Often the scene of press conferences and photo opportunities at the White House, was planted by First Lady Dolley Madison, who risked her own life snatching priceless artifacts from the White House when the British invaded and set fire to it in 1814, when the White House was rebuilt, repainted except in two locations which showed the scorch marks of the fire.
During the Presidency of Woodrow Wilson it was decided that the garden be dug up. When the work men equipped with their tools approached the garden to start the work they met the angry ghost of Dolley Madison.
As the garden is still blooming it is far to say that Dolley still watches over the White House.

It seems that Harry Truman, the man who became President on the death of F.D. Roosevelt and ordered the dropping of the Atomic Bomb to hasten thd end of WWII, believed that the White House was haunted.

Tales of the different Hauntings go back to the days when the White House was first built.

It is said there is a ghost of a British Soldier seen.
The British attacked Washing D.C. and burnt the White House, it is believed this soldier was killed during the attack.
The White House we know today is the one built after this event and has part of the original building still incorporated in it.

Mediums and psychics have said there is a vortex situated in The White House.
A vortex is said to be the door way between our world and that of the paranormal.

President Lincoln's wife reported that she thought former President Andrew Jackson haunted the corridors and that she heard him swearing.

Abraham Lincoln's ghost has been seen several times and by several people including Queen Wilhemmenia of Holland, who when sleeping in the now called Lincoln bedroom was disturbed by a knocking at the door.
On opening it, she was confronted by the ghost of Lincoln.
Perhaps it is natural that Lincoln haunts The White House, he was president there during an extremely important and historical time in America's history. He is also known to have been interested in the paranormal.
A man with such a presence whilst alive, would certainly be a presence felt in death and it has been noticed on occassions that he has been 'felt' by others working at the White House.

His son Willie, who died, whilst his father was president, is another one known to haunt.

Eleanor Rooservelt held seances whilst living there, she communicated with Lincoln.
Several different administrations have reports from employees who have seen Lincoln moving about the place.

A ghost of a different kind, is Abigail Adams, the wife of one of the earlier Presidents, she has been seen in the East Room, hanging washing as she did while she was alive.

There is even tales of cat, that is seen before a national disaster.
