Hilton Hotel Las Vegas
I put this in here but it could have easily been put in Famous Ghosts.
See what you think.
Was watching Paul O'Grady, and his guest was singer Engelbert Humperdink.
Engelbert met Elvis Presley, and they both appeared in Las Vegas.
He mentioned that after Elvis's death, he was put up in the Elvis Presley suite, the one usually used by Elvis when appearing in Las Vegas.
Engelbert was due to perform in Hawaii, a place associated with Elvis through his films and his live performances, one which was considered his comeback tour.
Engelbert decided that he would sing one of Elvis's songs.
He had a tape of Elvis singing the song, so to learn it, he put it in a tape recorder to listen to it.
Almost immediately the recorder ate the tape, no big deal, he thought, that does happen.
He decided to go to bed. And as he was telling Paul this, he mentioned that he slept with the bedside light on, and usually fell asleep with the tv on.
A thing Elvis himself was known to have done.
Englebert said the light went off at least three or four times, each time he put it back on. Then the tv decided to switch itself off, this was in the days before pre-timers, each time he switched it back on.
Then the jaccuzzi in the room went on. Now these jaccuzzi baths usually need some amount of pressure to make the switch depress, this is to stop it accidently starting up without water bing in the tub.
As he finished the tale, one of the objects on Pauls unit which is located behind his desk fell off.
So if ever you have a pocket full of cash and find yourself in Las Vegas, check into the Hilton Hotel and ask for the Elvis Presley suite, and ask 'Has Elvis left the building'
I thank you very much
(Sorry no more bad Elvis impersonations)

Meant to add this was where they used to have the Star Trek Experience where you could be 'beamed up' by Scotty.

Re: Hilton Hotel Las Vegas
I enjoyed that thanks Mags. Well that is strange you could put the lights going on and off to a faulty bulb but the tv and bath all at the same time. I bet Paul jumped out of his skin when that item fell down

Ooh, that's seriously weird. Not sure I could ever stretch to the cost of the Elvis Presley Suite though.

Re: Hilton Hotel Las Vegas
You'd be surprised Sluggie, I know it is going back years, but my parents went to Las Vegas during one of their anniversaries.
They went mid week, the rooms are much (or were) cheaper then.
They also had the advantage of 'airline' discount, but they were given a suite, when they got there they couldn't find the bed, it came down out of the wall and dad had moved a lamp, which got smashed when the bed came down.
I used to subscribe to a site that told you all the deals that were on in Las Vegas, and at the moment the place is really struggling and would welcome any visitors. We're always planning to go back to show the girls where we got married
