The Tunguska Event
On 30th June 1908 at 7.17am a massive explosion tore through an unpopulated wooded area surrounding the Podkamenaya Tuguska River in Russia. The explosion more powerfull than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima during WW2. The fallout left the landscape devasted with up to 80 million trees gone. A meteroite seems to have been the cause.
