Do you think all witches in the past were evil?
Just another side to paranormal debate, but it seems that anyone who is mentioned in programmes as practising witchcraft in days gone by are considered evil.
Do you think they were? Or do you think it was the Church labelling them to have control over the common folk via the priest.
Most of those who would have practised witchcraft, would have been outside the normal control of the Church, some being Pagan and perhaps it was just that these people were Pagans or Druids and not the evil devil worshippers they are portrayed as.

I think very few of them were evil, many were persecuted for being "different" and refusing to cowtow to the priests. As for the devil worship I think that was a story circulated by religous fanatics as the devil is a christian invention.

I think these women were harmless and probably did more good with there home made herbal receipes which would have done a lot more good than most doctors would when you think of the stupid and dangerous things they did (Charles II died as a result of what the doctors did to try and save him if they left him alone he would have lived it was horrible).
Most of the worlds history has had it in for women as the root of all evil and I think there were all sorts of reasons why they went after these harmless women take your pick there is greed, envy, perversion, ingorance all this was in a good part fulled by the church.
At one time if a woman commited adultery it was called petty treason so she would have been boiled alive or burnt etc this was not the case for a man.
