That's a pretty interesting read, when you look at it that way, it does make you think.

Re: Was Jesus an Extraterrestrial?
I have always thought this.. There was a book, 'Was God an astronaut'.
And when Moses decended on a 'burnung bush' maybe it was a jet pack...
There are many ancient cave drawings depicting visitors weraring head gear that looks remarkably like space helmets... Food for thought isn't it.

Re: Was Jesus an Extraterrestrial?
We're of an age, so you would have probably read the same sort of books as I did about this theory that were around in the mid to late 70's.
It's not really a new theory and the cave dwelling paintings have been mentioned time and again in all sorts of programmes usually about the origin of man, but it does make you wonder how ancient civilisations knew and had the technology to make the Pyramids in Ancient Egypt and the Mayan temples whilst others were living in mud huts, only for it all to disappear and we descended into the dark ages.

Re: Was Jesus an Extraterrestrial?
I think that this is a step way too far - it assumes that the biblical Jesus was a real person as a starting point.
I think that the author would have been best employed providing evidence that Jesus exisited and that of his provenance first, then presenting his alien thesis as a second offering.
On a secondary point, think that we need to explore how students get all these exams yet can't string a sentence together or add 2 + 2 when they get a job. This is far more extrodinary than who built the pyramids in my mind.
Kind Regards
Baruc.

Re: Was Jesus an Extraterrestrial?
Biblical Jesus was in fact documented in Roman texts, I can't remember where, but I was discussing this on another forum with someone who has studied theology, and he said whether or not he was the Jesus of the Bible, there was a man who was put to death in Jerusalem

Re: Was Jesus an Extraterrestrial?
If it's any help, there's currently no direct reference to a singular person called Jesus in Roman texts that have been found to date, but rather references to a number of religous dissidents that academics (with a vested interest) have aluded to refer to the biblical Jesus.
If there was a direct reference I guess we'd all know about it for obvious reasons.
Mind you, as christianity is based upon faith, it's probably best that no reference is traced.
Kind Regards
